Brodii Joseph VanderBor (aka: Bro, Joe, JoJo, and Joey) passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 12, 2024. He was adopted by the VanderBor family in 2014 in Columbus, OH.
He had a huge personality and was loved by many. Brodii was an adventurous dog that loved to be outside and explore. One of his adventures lead him deep into the corn fields surrounding his home. This resulted in his mom having to tread through the mud for more than a mile to find him. Every time she got close to him, he would take off running further away. Until she finally asked him if he wanted to go home and get an ice cream cone. His ears immediately perked up and he started running for home. To say he was food motivated, would be an understatement! He loved hanging out in the barn with the boys, going for long walks at the farm, car rides, camping, and playing with his toys. Christmas was always a very exciting time for him. He loved to open his presents! If you weren’t careful, he would open everyone’s presents. When camping he was known as “the people’s dog.” He loved everybody and they loved him. He especially loved his human siblings and was very protective of them.
Sometimes he would act like a grumpy old man, but that just made everyone want his love and affection even more. He made it known which spot on the couch was his. Of course this was the spot where he could relax comfortably on the couch and still see everything that was going on in the kitchen. He had a set bedtime and expected that everyone would go to bed when he said it was time. He loved his blankets and would carry them all around the house.
He will be forever missed by those that loved him. Brodii is survived by his human parents: Brian and Michelle VanderBor; human siblings: Yazmene and Trenton VanderBor; and feline sister Maggie. He is proceeded in death by his canine sister Macy; canine brother Austin; and feline sister Jordan.
